چکیده
Shape memory alloy (SMA) actuators typically exhibit limited response speed owing to the long duration required for cool down and return its natural shape compliance after electrical thermal actuation. Herein, a generic design principle harnessing mechanical instability of bistable mechanism improve properties output force SMA is proposed. The actuator presented herein constructed by combining spring‐based linkages springs as “skeletal spine” muscles,” respectively. Most existing are designed inherently unimodally stable, whereas working performance suggests that it rapidly stores releases energy within tens milliseconds regulating mechanism. Furthermore, highly dynamic can generate ≈3.4 N demonstrated, bends through 60° in 0.05 s, achieves periodic deformation under alternating actuation two springs. representative demonstrations impact excitation jumping verified. Owing these properties, pave new path toward constructing next‐generation, high‐performance smart with multiple scales functionalities. It be applied next‐generation robotic or systems multifunctional characteristics.

Soft Ionic Electroactive Polymer Actuators with Tunable Non-Linear Angular Deformation
The most rational approach to fabricate soft robotics is the implementation of soft actuators. Conventional soft electromechanical actuators exhibit linear or circular deformation, based on their design. This study presents the use of conjugated polymers, Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) to locally vary ion permeability of the ionic electroactive polymer actua...

To improve actuation of hydrogels, we utilized an emulsion polymerization to engineer porous structures into polyelectrolyte hydrogels. Porous hydrogels generated large deformation as a result of enhanced deswelling mechanisms; for instance, the decreased number of COO(-) groups that must be protonated in porous hydrogels to initiate bending. Measurements of the mechanical properties revealed t...
